When you combine subsonic .300 BLK with a suppressor:
- The supersonic crack is gone. The bullet never breaks the sound barrier, so there is no ballistic crack downrange.
- The muzzle blast is captured. The silencer contains and cools the expanding gas, reducing the report to a fraction of its unsuppressed level.
- What remains is action noise — the click of the bolt cycling and the mechanical thunk of the trigger — which is why suppressed subsonic .300 BLK sounds remarkably like a stapler.
