Everything about shooting the suppressed DDM4 PDW

What is the Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW?

Daniel Defense is an American manufacturer whose rifles are used by military and law-enforcement units worldwide. The DDM4 PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) is their compact AR-pattern pistol: a 7-inch barrel, .300 Blackout chambering, and a frame small enough to manoeuvre in a vehicle or CQB shoothouse.

With a red dot sight mounted, it is fast on target and instinctive to shoot. The short barrel and .300 BLK cartridge make it an ideal host for a suppressor — the DDM4 PDW was designed for exactly this kind of setup.

    Why .300 Blackout suppressed?

.300 Blackout was designed from the ground up for suppressed shooting. A heavy subsonic bullet (around 220 grains) stays below the speed of sound, so there is no sonic crack. Paired with a centre-fire suppressor, the report drops to a soft mechanical click — quieter than most unsuppressed .22 LR rifles.

Switch to supersonic .300 BLK and you get the full-power impulse: flat trajectory, serious energy on steel, but still significantly quieter than an unsuppressed 5.56 AR15. The DDM4 PDW lets you fire both back-to-back so the difference is immediate.

What a typical session looks like

A typical session is simple and focused: two full magazines — one supersonic, one subsonic — 30 rounds each. After a 15-minute safety brief and dry handling (suppressor mounting, red dot zero, subsonic vs supersonic explained), you fire Mag 1 supersonic for the full-power impulse through the suppressor, then Mag 2 subsonic for the whisper-quiet contrast.

By the end of 60 rounds you have fired 30 rounds supersonic and 30 rounds subsonic back-to-back, so the difference in sound, recoil and point of impact is immediate and obvious. The session is instructor-led throughout — no licence, no paperwork.

Can tourists shoot a suppressed DDM4 PDW in Poland?

Yes. Under Polish law you may shoot any of our firearms under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor, with no permit at all — you only need a passport or ID and to be at least 18 (16 with a parent present). Real centre-fire suppressors are legal and available.

Poland Shooting Center sits 45 minutes from Wrocław airport, a 1.5–2 h flight from London, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin or Madrid. A DDM4 PDW session is an easy weekend add-on to a pistol or rifle class.

    FAQ

DDM4 PDW — frequently asked questions

Do I need a firearms licence to shoot a suppressed DDM4 PDW in Poland?

No. Under Polish law you may shoot any of our firearms under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor. You only need a valid ID or passport.

    Is the suppressor real?

Yes. The DDM4 PDW runs with a genuine centre-fire suppressor, not a mock-up. Firing subsonic .300 BLK through it is quieter than most unsuppressed .22 LR rifles.

    How much does it cost?

.300 Blackout ammunition is 20 PLN per round (approx. €5), instructor and firearm rental included, no hidden fees. A typical 60-round session (30 supersonic + 30 subsonic) is from 1 200 PLN.

    Is the DDM4 PDW full-auto?

No. The DDM4 PDW is a semi-automatic pistol. If you want full-auto, see our full-auto shooting experience.

What is the difference between supersonic and subsonic .300 Blackout?

Supersonic .300 BLK fires a lighter bullet above the speed of sound — full-power impulse, flat trajectory, louder report even suppressed. Subsonic .300 BLK uses a heavy bullet that stays below the sound barrier — no sonic crack, just the soft mechanical click of the action. You fire both in a typical session.

Can I combine the DDM4 PDW with other firearms?

Yes. Most visitors build a package — DDM4 PDW suppressed, a Glock block, or a Dragunov sniper rifle in a single half-day. Contact us to build your session.

    What is the minimum age?

18 years old, or 16 with a parent or legal guardian present on the range.
