Wrocław vs Kraków for a Shooting Weekend — Which Is Better?
Kraków has more search volume; Wrocław has better ranges and cheaper flights. An honest comparison for visitors planning a Polish shooting trip.
Type "shooting range Poland" into Google and Kraków dominates the results. There's a reason: Kraków has been Europe's stag-and-tourist capital for two decades and every tour operator there bolted a small indoor range onto the package.
But "popular" and "good" are not the same thing. Here is an honest comparison if you're choosing where to fly in for a shooting weekend.
Flights
- Kraków (KRK): Massive flight network, cheap from almost everywhere. Edge: Kraków.
- Wrocław (WRO): Smaller but well-connected. Direct from London, Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dortmund, Munich, Milan, Eindhoven and 40+ more. Often cheaper because tourist demand is lower.
Winner: tie. Both work. Compare your specific route.
The ranges
- Kraków: Several indoor city-centre ranges. Typical: 25 m, pistol-only, 30-round tourist package, 20-minute slot. Bigger outdoor ranges exist around the city but most package operators don't use them.
- Wrocław area: Our outdoor tactical facility in Pawłów (45 min from WRO) — 300 m rifle line, multiple bays, holster work, dynamic drills, CQB shoothouse, night vision lane.
Winner: Wrocław. Not close.
What you'll actually fire
- Kraków package: [Glock 17](/shoot-glock-poland), maybe an AK or AR for extra cost, 25 m indoor, no holster.
- Wrocław area: Glock 17/19/34, CZ Shadow 2, 1911, AR15, AKM, precision bolt-action, shotgun. Outdoor. Holster legal. Steel at 100–300 m.
Winner: Wrocław.
The city
- Kraków: Old Town is gorgeous. Tourist-heavy. Restaurants pricey. Massive nightlife if you want it.
- Wrocław: Equally beautiful (Old Town + Cathedral Island + the dwarfs). Less tourist-crammed. Food and drink notably cheaper. Easier to get around.
Winner: tie on beauty, edge to Wrocław on price.
Cost of the same weekend
Same shooter, same itinerary (2 nights + half-day shoot + dinners):
- Kraków package: flights £80, hotel 2 nights £140, basic shoot £70, food £80 → ~£370
- Wrocław + our range: flights £70, hotel 2 nights £100, serious half-day shoot £130, food £60 → ~£360
Same money. Massively better shooting.
When Kraków actually wins
- You want a 20-minute novelty shoot, not a real range day.
- The bride / partner specifically wants the Kraków old town and you're tagging shooting onto the side.
- You're flying from somewhere only KRK serves directly.
When Wrocław wins
- You care about the shooting itself.
- You want to fire real distance with rifles.
- You want to draw from a holster, do transitions or dynamic drills.
- You want a group package without paying tourist-tax.
Our take
If shooting is the headline event, fly to Wrocław. If it's a side activity on a stag weekend that's really about old-town bars, Kraków works.
