Top 10 Things to Do in Wrocław Besides Drinking (Shooting #1)

A non-pub-crawl guide to Wrocław for shooters, ex-military and active travellers. Range day, museums, food and the city's hidden corners.

Wrocław gets sold to tourists as a stag city. That's a disservice. It's one of the prettiest Old Towns in Central Europe, with a heavy WWII and Cold War history that lands hard if you have a military background. Here's what to actually do — beyond the pub crawl.

    1. Half-day shoot at our range (45 min east)

Live-fire Glock, AR15 and AK47 on an outdoor tactical range. The single best non-touristy thing you can do in the region. Book the half-day.

    2. Panorama of the Battle of Racławice

A 360° painted panorama from 1894 depicting Kościuszko's victory. Quietly one of the most impressive pieces of military art in Europe. 90 minutes. Book ahead.

    3. Wrocław's dwarfs hunt

Over 600 bronze dwarfs hidden across the Old Town. Sounds twee, ends up being the best walking tour you'll do. Free.

    4. Centennial Hall (UNESCO)

1913 concrete dome — the largest reinforced concrete structure of its era. Architecturally fascinating, especially if you have an engineering eye.

    5. Cathedral Island (Ostrów Tumski)

The oldest part of the city. Crossed at dusk when the gas lamps are lit by hand by a lamplighter. Genuinely magical.

    6. Hala Targowa market

1908 market hall, still working. Polish food, cheap, no tourists. Pick up pierogi, smoked sausage and żurek.

    7. Sky Tower observation deck

212 m tower, panoramic views over the whole city and the plains stretching toward our range. Clear days you can see the Sudety mountains.

    8. Hydropolis water knowledge centre

Underground museum in a 19th-century water reservoir. Sounds dry, is excellent. 2 hours.

    9. Lower Silesia drive — castles loop

Książ Castle (3rd largest in Poland), Bolków, Czocha. Rent a car and do a half-day loop. Pairs well with a morning shoot.

    10. The Jewish Quarter + White Stork Synagogue

Sobering, beautifully restored, well-curated history of a community erased and partially rebuilt.

    A 48-hour itinerary that works

    • Day 1 AM: fly in, drop bags, walk Old Town + dwarfs + Cathedral Island.
    • Day 1 PM: Panorama of Racławice, dinner near the Rynek.
    • Day 2 AM: drive to range (45 min), half-day shoot.
    • Day 2 PM: lunch at the range, back to Wrocław, Hala Targowa, fly out.
