More AK-pattern rifles have been built than any other firearm in history — somewhere north of 70 million. The design is deliberately crude in the best sense: loose tolerances, long-stroke piston, a 7.62×39 mm cartridge that hits hard at short range, and a reputation for working when nothing else will. Firing one is on almost every shooter's list, and for good reason: the sound, the recoil impulse and the muzzle blast are nothing like a 5.56 carbine.
Owning one in Western Europe is another matter. Semi-automatic centrefire rifles are prohibited or heavily restricted for civilians across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Belgium, and even where a licence exists the waiting lists and club requirements put a first shot years away. In Poland, a visitor with photo ID can shoot an AKM at a licensed range under instructor supervision, on the day, with no permit at all.
Our rifles are real AKM and AKMS variants in 7.62×39 mm — not airsoft, not .22 conversions. The session begins with safe handling and the manual of arms: the reach for that safety lever, rock-and-lock magazine changes, malfunction clearing. Then standing fire at 25 metres to learn the recoil, reactive steel at 50–100 metres for instant feedback, and kneeling or prone positions for accurate fire out to 200 metres.
The AK teaches you something the AR15 cannot: how to fight a rifle that pushes back. Once you can call your hits through that recoil impulse, everything else feels easy. Most visitors pair the AK with a Glock or an AR15 in a single visit — you keep your shot-up targets, and we take photos and short video clips of the session at no extra cost.

No. 7.62×39 kicks harder than 5.56 but it is very manageable — your instructor sets your stance before the first round and most beginners are hitting steel at 50 m quickly.
