    The Shadow 2 platform

Made in the Czech Republic and developed from the CZ 75 family, the full-size Shadow 2 is a purpose-built sporting pistol. It combines a substantial steel frame with a competition-focused grip and trigger. It is not a lightweight carry pistol—and that is part of its appeal on the range.

Why shooters love the CZ Shadow 2

    A proven sporting platform

The Shadow 2 builds on CZ 75 heritage and years of competition use. Its reputation for reliability makes it attractive for regular training as well as matches. Reliability still depends on maintenance, ammunition and the condition of the individual pistol.

    Cold hammer forged barrel

CZ manufactures the Shadow 2's barrel by cold hammer forging. This is a durable production method designed for consistent barrels and long service life—not a promise of unlimited life or identical accuracy with every ammunition load.

    Accuracy you can appreciate

A competition-oriented barrel, clear sights and a clean single-action trigger make the Shadow 2 rewarding for deliberate target shooting. Its sporting design supports precision; the result still belongs to the shooter and the ammunition.

    Steel-frame stability

The full-size steel frame adds substantial weight compared with a polymer service pistol. Many shooters appreciate its planted feel and reduced perceived recoil when shooting 9mm.

    A refined single-action feel

The standard Shadow 2 uses a double-action/single-action system. Its crisp single-action pull is a major attraction for shooters comparing it with more expensive single-action sporting pistols.

    More than an IPSC pistol

A familiar name at European clubs, the Shadow 2 is also appealing for target practice, recreational range sessions and supervised dynamic training. You do not have to compete to enjoy a competition-quality pistol.

    IPSC and European club shooting

Built for IPSC. Enjoyed far beyond it.

The Shadow 2 is closely associated with IPSC Production competition. Appropriate optics-ready configurations also have a place in Production Optics, subject to the current approved list and equipment rules.

Its appeal is broader than a division name. Across European clubs, shooters choose it for accuracy-focused practice, recreational sessions and dynamic sporting disciplines. Its weight, grip and trigger make it enjoyable even when there is no match timer.

You can try that character at our range before deciding whether a competition-style pistol is for you. A sporting pistol does not replace coaching, but it can make learning its distinctive feel particularly rewarding.

CZ Shadow 2 vs a 2011: how close is it?

A good Shadow 2 in single action can feel exceptionally precise and deliver results comparable with some 2011-style pistols. That makes it a compelling value choice—not proof that every Shadow 2 matches every custom 2011. The Shadow 2 has a pivoting DA/SA trigger; a conventional 2011 has a straight-moving single-action trigger. They are different systems, not interchangeable experiences.

A strong option for The Tactical Games

For a competitor who likes a substantial steel pistol, the Shadow 2 offers an attractive combination of precision, grip and single-action trigger feel. Those qualities can be valuable when a sporting event combines physical effort with demanding pistol targets.

There is a trade-off: its weight is welcome during shooting, but noticeable during running and loaded movement. A lighter service pistol may suit another athlete better.

Confirm eligibility before entering. The exact model, division, holster retention and event safety requirements all matter. The standard Shadow 2 is a sporting design without a firing-pin block; it should not be treated as a universal duty-pistol substitute. Ask the organiser to approve your configuration and follow the current rulebook. IPSC approval alone does not establish Tactical Games eligibility.

Yes. CZ specifies cold hammer forged barrels for the Shadow 2 series. The process supports durability and consistent manufacture, but actual service life depends on use and maintenance.
